Lightly raced Time To Test scored his maiden stakes win (his first start at stakes level) with a sound effort here. He was one of the slowest away to be second last in a strung out field with a circuit to run. Inside the 1600m he was giving the leaders about 12 lengths but did not begin to creep forward until the 800m. Prior to straightening he was locked away, full of running, waiting for a split, which finally presented itself at the 200m, squeezed through then eased clear to win fairly comfortably. Favourite High Church got off the fence at the 500m, turned in five wide, grabbed the lead at the 200m but could not hold the winner, the first two having the finish to themselves. Unfurl had a nice run in third, challenged at the 300m but never looked like catching the first two, while Docker Pav ran on steadily to nab (4.8 lengths) fourth late.
