Despite drawing barrier 13, jockey Craig Williams bounced Fuhryk away well to settle a handy fifth, three off the fence. He pushed forward soon after to be one out and one back, right behind the pace. Rounding the last corner they moved out another width ready to lodge a challenge. The filly took a few strides to balance then cruised up to the lead, took over at the 100m and after that nothing could catch her. Miss Gunpowder was sixth or seventh (rails) turning in, had to moved out to find a run and ran on strongly but too late for a solid second. Ravi was last (rails) rounding the last corner, threaded between runners then flashed home for a most unlucky third. Typhoon Jolie lay second into the home straight and kept going doggedly to the line for fourth.
