The John Thompson-trained three-year-old gelding Blenders Edition put up a very nice effort in winning here on debut. He was slow to move and settled in last place in the seven-horse field, remaining there until taken deep on turning for home. He then came with a strong late run and proved too strong going on to win with something in hand.
