The favourite It’s A Dundeel could not have been more impressive. He raced in second last pace in the ten-horse field before tracking up from the 600m. He switched to the extreme outside on straightening and cantered up at the 200m before dashing away to win by six lengths, untouched by his rider, running the 2400m out very strongly. He is an outstanding colt. Philippi was about seventh one off the rails, put in a good run wide out on the home turn, kept running on well, and although outclassed by the winner, did well to take second. Kingdoms was ninth early, but pulling hard in the moderate pace and moved up to race outside the leader (Bloodbuzz Ohio) at the 800m. He then held on surprising well to take third, putting up a sound effort. *ANZ
