First Seal was most impressive. She began well and enjoyed a perfect trip, fourth one out and one back, following quite a reasonable tempo (first 1000m 60.11). Blake Shinn eased her three deep nearing the turn and she showed an exceptional turn of foot to dash clear at the 200m before going on to win easily by three lengths. She is a high class filly. Winx was ridden quietly from her outside barrier (7), was last early before racing in fifth place on the rails. She eased wide rounding the turn, took a while to wind up before getting to second at the 100m and she then battled on nicely for second, having no chance with the winner, but she should appreciate stepping up further in distance. Thinking Of You was sixth, one off the rails, in the seven-horse field. She improved (wide) rounding the home turn, went to fourth at the 200m and then battled on nicely for a good third. Press Report raced outside the leader (Echo Gal) until into the straight and held on quite well for (4.5 lengths) fourth while Echo Gal led to the 300m before finishing (6 lengths) fifth.
