Adrift caused a major upset scoring a strong win after covering extra ground three and four wide in fourth position before taking the home turn on the outside of the field. She appeared to be the first to come under pressure but she responded well, hitting the front inside the final 200m and having enough in hand to score a little cosily. This was a very good effort first up from a spell and over what must be short of her optimum distance. First Seal was away well from her inside barrier but was allowed to drift back in the field settling in sixth position over seven lengths from the leader Press Report who ran along in front. Shinn moved off the fence at the 600m and then took her to the outside on turning for home. She picked up really well and kept finding the line without ever threatening the winner. She will be improved by the run which was a good first up effort. Slightly Sweet raced on the outside of First Seal in the run. She came widest of all on turning for home and finished on well to grab third on the line. Peggy Jean settled down in second last position along way out of her ground. She tracked First Seal into the race before switched back toward the centre. She finished on well for fourth without having clear running. A good first up effort. Onemorezeta settled down in third position behind the leader before turning for home three wide in the clear. She battled on in the straight but tired a little in the final 200m to finish (2.2 lengths) fifth. Mossfun chased the leader in second position and only battled on in the straight for (3 lengths) sixth knocking up late on. Winx finished on really well from the tail of the field along the finish to finish a good seventh first up from a spell. Amicus had a nice run in the race in fifth position. She did not pick up when asked for her effort at the 300m and was a little disappointing in the run to the line.
