Gust Of Wind settled nicely in seventh place on the rails. She made ground along the rails from the 800m and took an inside run nearing the home turn to take the lead on straightening. She dashed clear on passing the 300m and then went on to win impressively by two and a half lengths, handling the Soft7 track well and running the 2400m out strongly. The favourite Winx was a handy fifth before being shuffled back to seventh at the 800m. She moved up from the 600m, got to third coming to the 200m and then battled on soundly for (2.5 lengths) second. Candelara led the field to the 600m, was headed rounding the home turn and fought back well in the straight for (4.8 lengths) third. Rustic Melody was second to the 600m and held on for (6 lengths) fourth while Thunder Lady was a handy fifth most of the way and held on for (8.6 lengths) fifth. Savaria was near last on the rails, got along the inner from the 600m but just battled in the Soft7 conditions for (9.3 lengths) sixth.
