Sebring Sun scored a very good late-closing win. He was settled nicely by Brenton Avdulla in sixth place, one off the rails before tracking up well (behind Voilier) rounding the home turn. He switched out at the 200m and then sprinted quickly to score a good win. Voilier had a good trip in fourth place, one out and one back. He moved up well (three wide) nearing the home turn, challenged at the 200m and fought on well to hold second in a photo. Let’s Make It Rain was smartly away, raced outside the leader (Can Be Bossy), hit the front at the 300m and then battled on well for a sound third. Rageese went back in the early stages and raced in last place in the eight-horse field to the home turn. He fanned deep on straightening and ran on well under his top weight (59kg) for a very good first-up (2.2 lengths) fourth. Tatoosh was ridden quietly from barrier one and settled in seventh place on the rails. He was blocked and went back to last (in the field of eight) at the 300m, and responded well in the latter stages for a late-closing (2.6 lengths) fifth in a most promising effort.
