Team Hawkes-trained filly Estijaab, a $1.7m 2017 Sydney Easter Yearling Sales purchase, scored a most impressive win on debut here. She was quickly away from her outside barrier (9) and soon went to the front. She then settled well nearing the 600m, dashed clear at the 200m and went on to score very easily by four lengths, looking set for a bright future. Gary Portelli-trained colt Dio D’Oro settled in fourth place, on the rails, got through to second on passing the 200m and then battled on nicely to hold that position in a good debut. Matthew Smith-trained filly Tell No Tales showed good pace before settling in second. She then battled on nicely to hold third in a sound debut.
