The highly consistent Arinosa has not finished further back than second in her last nine starts and today was her sixth win in that period. The grey mare was eased from the outside barrier (12) and settled near last before moving up three wide with cover from the 600m. She switched out at the 300m and produced her quick final sprint to score impressively by just under two lengths. The three-year-old filly Shamal Wind was seventh between runners to the turn, got a nice split at 300m and battled on nicely for second, having no chance in holding off the winner’s late run. Miss Stellabelle raced outside the leader (Altar), challenged at the 200m then battled on for third after having every chance, just beating home Altar (fourth) who set the pace until half way down the straight. *ANZ
