The well supported Prince Cheri ($2.60 fav) travelled well in third place, one off the rails. He switched wide on turning for home, challenged at the 200m and then finished gamely for win by a neck, running the 2000m on strongly. He has now won four of six starts and looks set for better things. Honorius came across from his wide barrier (12) and raced in second place most of the way to the turn. He challenged at the 200m and battled strongly to the post for a good (neck) second. Top weight (59kg) Julienas got back in the field and raced in about seventh place on the rails to the 600m. He went to the centre on straightening and made good ground for third. It was a nice effort and he should continue to improve, today being his third run this preparation. Less Is More was a distant sixth to the 700m before moving up well rounding the home turn. He then kept fighting on, without looking a winning prospect, for (three lengths) fourth. I’m Imposing was well back to the 600m, got a good rails run on turning for home but he only ran on fairly well in the latter stages for fifth. Darci Be Good led the field, following the riderless Lunayir, to the turn before tiring to finish sixth. *ANZ
