Pornichet was taken forward from his wide barrier to settle down in third position on the fence about four lengths from the early leader Himalaya Dream who ran along in front. The pace slackened mid race allowing Pornichet to improve his position to be on the back of the leader approaching the home turn where Shinn switched off the fence and quickened up impressively, hitting the front at the 350m and scoring with plenty in reserve. Our Voodoo Prince enjoyed a lovely run in fifth position one off the fence with a trail behind Dear Demi. He stayed to the fence on cornering before switching out on to the back of the winner. He could not match the turn of foot shown by Pornichet but battled on gamely for a good second. Hawkspur raced in second last position. He was still well back on turning for home he closed strongly on the outside for a good third. He will appreciate a step up in trip and bit of ease in the ground. Junoob ran an improved race, closing from midfield closer to the fence to just miss the minor placings. He will improve again with more ground. Disclaimer came from a clear last and worked home at one pace for (3.1 lengths) fifth.
