Casino Dancer continues to race in top form since the application of blinkers four starts back. She settled nicely in sixth place, three wide with cover, switched out at the 300m and came with a strong late run to score decisively. Puccini, having his first run for the Darren Weir stable, went back from his wide barrier (15), was near the tail of the field in the early stages before improving (racing keenly) at the 800m. He then raced in third place, but three wide without cover, and remained there until going to the front at the 300m. He then fought well for a very good second after a difficult trip. Worthy Cause enjoyed a nice run in fourth place on the rails from his inside barrier (1), challenged at the 200m and then fought on well for third. Jacquinot Bay was handily placed all the way and held on for (2.8 lengths) fourth while the favourite Malice was about ninth ( between runners) to the home turn and made ground, without threatening, to finish (3.1 lengths) fifth.
