Analysis: Diamond Earth broke smartly but ended up a touch wide without cover. On the turn she began to move into the race around the outside and was only two lengths from the lead. She hit a flat spot at the 300m and had to be shaken up by jockey Peter Robl to give chase. Eventually she found her stride and flattened out really well over concluding stages to score by a length. Omniscient tracked the leaders in fifth position on the fence and had every chance. She sprinted gamely along the inside to claim second but lacked the winner’s dash. She’s A Stalker had to work a little in crossing the field and sitting outside the leader. Her early effort told over the final 100m as she was unable to repel the late challenges of winner and runner-up but was game in defeat. Shamrock Slipper was conspicuous finishing full of running from last to claim fourth. Favourite No Looking Back was very disappointing. She never looked like figuring despite having every chance. *ANZ
