Kris Lees-trained three-year-old filly Frankely Awesome remains unbeaten after two starts, following her impressive debut win in a fillies and mares' maiden handicap (1300m) at Newcastle on September 4 with another very smart win here. She went back from her wide barrier (9) and settled a clear second last in the ten-horse field before improving nearing the home turn. She then went to the centre of the track at the 300m and responded really well, hit the front at the 100m and drew away to win very easily. She should appreciate further and looks a filly with a bright future. The Gerry Harvey-raced colt Mr Wong settled midfield, moved up (deep) on passing the 800m, drifted very deep, racing waywardly, at the home turn before recovering to challenge at the 200m. He then fought on well for second, having no chance with the late-closing winner.
