Consistent Team Hawkes-trained three-year-old Wild Planet took his record to three wins and six placings from 11 starts in taking out this Restricted Listed race. He was smartly away from his inside barrier (1) and went to the front. He steadied the mid-race tempo, lifted gamely when challenged in the straight and then went on to win well. The favourite Military Zone settled back in last place from his outside barrier (9), improved (deep) rounding the home turn, looked dangerous when he moved up at the 100m and then battled on well for second. Total Power had a nice trip in fifth place on the rails, got along the inner on turning for home and then fought on nicely for third from Signore Fox, who ran on well from second last for (2 lengths) fourth with Bare Naked Lady holding on for (2.1 lengths) fifth after looking a threat when she challenged at the 200m.
