A model of consistency, Sexy Eyes returned fresh up after 14 weeks to run away with her sixth win and second stakes, having taken out the Belle of the Turf Stakes (Gr 3, 1600m) at Gosford in late December. She began with them but received a check soon after, dropping back to midfield, one out at the 800m. In the second group approaching the straight she moved up and got a lovely split starting the run home, co-led with three others at the 200m but then broke clear at the 100m and was in no danger to the line. Tycoon Ace sat one out and co-led at the 400m, took over into the straight, was caught at the 200m but kept going strongly to the line for second from Mishani Hustler, who was a handy fourth three out turning in, was one of four leaders across the track at the 200m then kept going gamely to be a close-up third.
