David Payne-trained two-year-old gelding Momentum Factor followed his unlucky third in a similar grade at this track on 7 March to score in good style here, his first win in four starts to date. He settled back in second last place in the nine-horse field from barrier seven, improved along the inner nearing the home turn, got a split at the 200m and then finished far too well to score, seemingly with something in hand. It was a smart win and he is a horse to watch. Chris Waller-trained colt Adana has now raced twice for two seconds. He settled in fifth place, between runners, challenged at the 200m and then battled on well to be beaten only a neck. Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Nicco Lad raced in third place, moved up well (three wide) coming to the home turn, took the lead on straightening and then battled on well for a close up third in a promising debut.
