Having his third start, Team Hawkes-trained three-year-old Aboukir Bay broke through for a very good win, resuming here. After being a bit slow to move, he soon recovered to race outside the leader (Bounding Badger) at a good tempo. He went to the front on straightening and then went on to score easily in smart time.
