Aerovelocity, having his first start since October, resumed to score in brilliant fashion. He began quickly, was second in the early stages before easing to settle in fourth place, one out and one back before switching out on turning for home. He cruised up to take the lead at the 200m but then hung in and briefly crowded Peniaphobia, then drew away to win clearly and in fast time (1:08.36). Gold-Fun raced in sixth place, tracking the winner. He moved up nicely at the 200m, got to second at the 50m and fought well to hold that position to the post. Peniaphobia had a good trip in third place on the rails, got a split on turning for home, took the lead at the 300m but was cramped when challenged at the 200m being checked and on recovering, battled on to hold a sound third.
