Helene Paragon settled down in eighth position between runners about about eight lengths from the leader Beauty Flame who set good fractions in front. Helene Paragon crept a little closer under Tommy Berry to be sixth between runners approaching the home turn. He was momentarily held in a pocket at the 400m but Berry pushed out into the clear and his mount responded quickening up well to hit the front inside the final 100m before drawing away to a comfortable victory. Joyful Trinity was trapped three wide in the run racing on the outside of the winner. He was shuffled back to tenth on the home turn before switching out to the centre of the track in the straight. He maintained a long run the whole way to the line to finish a sound second. Able Friend settled down in third last position on the fence. He travelled well in the run but was held up and disappointed for a run a number of times in the straight. When finally clear inside the final 200m he closed well to grab third on the line. Contentment ran well in defeat. He chased the leader throughout before being left in front soon after straightening. He was still in front at the 150m and kept giving all to just miss third on the line. Beauty Only came from second last and three wide to close well late down the middle of the track to finish a good fifth.
