The 1400m time of 1:30.07 in this Listed 1400m at WFA for fillies and mares was the best time on the day by almost three lengths. The 4yo winner Fascination Street was capturing her first blacktype victory having placed as a 3yo at G2, G3 and Listed level. She handled the WFA scale no worries and being ridden cold has transformed the mare this year. Her wet track record is good and today she notched up a fourth career win from fifteen starts and that includes nine placings so is paying her way and some now with the broodmare worth already assured. In fact she has never been worse than fifth in her entire career today so has the will to compete each and every time. She beat the resuming smart 3yo filly Platinum Witness that ran a cracker and is on target to got to Australia now for some age group races. The Filly ran a brave third after racing on the pace although was beaten eight and a half lengths but such was the track and days racing. Marotiri Miss came from last and cut the corner for her rider to end up a distant fourth but it was an improved effort on her previous outing. The next three home were beaten between twelve and a half lengths and just under fifteen lengths with Needlly plugging on okay and the eyecatcher being Eternity that drifted out to last turning for home before getting going again late wide. The top three all have more races to win and earning ahead while the fourth to seventh will be competitive in these types of races but on less holding and more looser footing. Some in this are not WFA suited and a few simply could not lift their hooves out of the ground quick enough across the top to the home turn and dropped out exhausted. Wet track relevance only would be the race result summary for a fair mark.
