Petty Cury was first out of the gates before being steadied to track a strong pace, in third. She challenged two off the fence at the 250m and gained a nose margin victory in a driving finish. Away well from a wide barrier, Durham Town was eased to find cover one off the rail in ninth. He tracked up widest of all into the straight and kept up a huge run, under top weight, to all but claim the win. The Hombre was given no peace in front by Double Barrel, yet never relented in his run to the line. Undisclosed raced on the outside of the winner, in fourth, and sustained a resolute gallop to hold his position.
