This Prestige 3200m Hurdle saw an impressive winner in Iffitel score by six and a half lengths to record her third win in four starts over the fences. The track at Te Rapa as usual raced very biased towards on pacers and in the four jumps races held today all the winners either led turning for home, shared the lead or were a close second on straightening up. Iffitel, a rising 8yo mare, sat second the outer then took the front midrace and went clear across the top. She had her rivals all off the bit and clocked 3:37.98 Her three hurdle wins have all come for different riders interestingly and today was her seventh win overall from forty-five starts El Disparo raced eighth mostly then came through fifth across the top before moving up third turning for home. He strode into a distant second at the 200m and was chasing in vain thereafter. Tommyra raced third or fourth the inner and fought on fairly but had every possible chance. It's A Wonder was fourth home beaten almost a dozen lengths while No Change raced fourth the outer then lost his place across the top, Guy Fox settled down last and plugged past a few the run home but get him on a less biased venue and his best will be seen again. The rest were beaten over eighteen lengths and up to thirty-four lengths. This was not a very strong Prestige Hurdle event and manmade track bias at this venue does skewer results actual worth greatly, as it does in all flat races too, so always factor that in. The results can differ greatly when at a fairer racing venue. Iffitel has dash and can sustain her speed for long enough to put her rivals under the pump a long way out so bad luck never comes into the equation.
