The G3 Open 2100m under set weights and penalties saw Nashville score narrowly and record his first for a very long time indeed. Sureasyouwereborn fought on well after sitting handy the inner while the odds on favourite Rasa Lila was swamped late into a close fifth. She had sat back before improving wide across the top and into second turning for home before taking the lead at the 200m and looking home for the rent. Her fifth will show she was beaten just over a half a length in what was a tight finish for the first five home. The leader Just The Tip was run over late and when better weighted has another win in him. Princess Brook was fair while Southern Sav was average but had a left foreleg and fetlock problem so hopefully it has not ruled him out for the G2 Wellngton Cup (3200m) here in a week. Blizzard and King Krovanh were both poor. This was not a strong field and many were out of form or had not done much for quite a while plus several used this as a soft lead up to the G2 Wellington Cup (3200m) The tricky rain-affected Trentham track also made the days racing and results suspect with wet trackers reaping most rewards on the card and sometimes at long odds.
