The winner of this G3 mile for 3yo fillies only was the impressive and improving all the time Force Of Will that got her hattrick today. She was wide early then eased back ninth the outer and then was eighth wide with cover across the top and turned for home even and deeper out. The filly surged smartly and led at the 200m the ended up winning by almost a length and a half in 1:37.84. The winners and where they came from were seventh (six-off the inside and two lengths from the leader), sixth (eight-off the inside and two and a half lengths from the leader), third (eight-off the inside and length and a half from the leader), tenth (ten-off the inside and four lengths from the leader), fourth (nine-off the inside and two lengths from the leader), seventh (ten-off the inside and three lengths from the leader), fifth (twelve-off the inside and a length from the leader), fourth (twelve-off the inside and three lengths from the leader), fifth (seven-off the inside and three lengths from the leader) and second (six-off the inside and a neck from the leader). The winning time was the fastest mile on the day and was over a length superior to the G1 mile held the following race. Force Of Will had won her last two starts impressively heading into this her first Blacktype outing and once again buried her rivals with a mixture of speed and determination. Her hattrick showed a thriving filly that looks like she will run middle distance too and when there is give in the ground she clearly lets go in an impressive manner. It is interesting that at her debut not much support eventuated and she jumped at $22 but since then she has run at $3.80, $5.30 and $4.30. Second home was the last start maiden winner and the leader on settling this namely Victorem that looked home and hosed after being a length ahead after 400m and still a length lead almost half way up the run home. Passione ran on well from eighth the fence and then working off near the home turn to be sixth up a middle path at the 200m. She once angled wider got home well and reached third with 25m to go. Fourth home was Sweet Anna that settled down seventh and was amongst traffic turning for home but got home well wider out and reached fourth with 15m to run. Fifth home was El Roseay, a maiden filly, that trailed the leaders on the inner and was swamped out of third the final 25m. She has a fourth at Listed level against all 3yo company and has only flopped once so is a maiden winner in waiting. Charms Star was next home after eased back to a clear last early and she found the line well the closing stages. Samina Bibi ran on up the middle after settling down third last and was beaten just over three lengths. Fleetwood Maca, which ran third favourite, raced sixth the outer mostly and went into third turning for home and was fourth at the 200m but she got swamped. Next home was Love For All, an Australian bred filly, that that raced fourth then fifth the inner and was seventh at the 200m closest in but wilted. Tenth home was the second favourite and another Australian bred filly in Key that settled tenth the inner and only plugged the run in to be beaten five lengths. The last three home were all maiden fillies and while Arancia plugged on the other pair showed no dash. This was not a strong filly field and G3 was its maximum rating with the still Oaks nominated runners finishing third and fourth. Sixth home and backwards after that saw many Oaks nominated runners but whether they all progress is doubtful at the moment. The winner ran on well but the runner up led so the pattern was not conclusive in this race but on the whole day not a single leader won, so the runner up effort was very good indeed. Expect some late nominations at this rate as the fillies are performing then losing lustre and the domination factor does not last long in this age group and sex this season so far.
