  • Spargo won in a famous upset in 1999 as a 50-1 outsider in a field of five which included Testa Rossa and Redoute's Choice.
  • Encosta De Lago won this race in 1996 and has since produced Alinghi as well as Northern Meteor who himself produced Zoustar who in turn produced Sunlight.
  • Chris Waller made it 5 of the last 9 wins as Home Affairs roared away in 2021.
