The autumn carnival is over for 2022, but racing continues with both South Australia and Queensland heating up ahead of their repsective carnivals over the next few months.

Although last week was a forgettable one for us (0/3 legs), we're keen to return to the winners' stall, and believe this Saturday's combination is a winning one.

We once again follow the East Coast of Australia, starting up in Brisbane and working our way down to Melbourne, where our final leg features in the VOBIS Gold Sprint.

Let's get stuck in.

Doomben Race 4 Number 1 MOKOLUA - Place ($1.65, Ladbrokes)

This filly was well beaten in the G1 Vinery Stud Stakes last start, but we're happy to overlook that effort. She followed a similar setup last campaign when she dropped back to 1600m and bolted in at Moonee Valley to win by 2.8L at G2 level. She's already proven to be better than this field and gets in beautifully under the set weights scale. She'll get back from the draw, but just has to finish in the money to get us off to a flyer.

Randwick Race 7 Number 3 ANDERMATT - Win ($1.85, Ladbrokes)
Returning in great order first-up in what was a complete demolition job, this Godolphin gelding relishes wet conditions and will once again find ground to his liking here. Rises slightly in grade off last run but has been competitive in Listed company in previous campaigns. Should be winning again.

Caulfield Race 7 Number 12 SWATS THAT - Place ($1.40, Ladbrokes)

Comes through the G1 Newmarket Handicap and G1 Black Caviar Lightning, and once again finds herself at the bottom of the weights despite having the highest Benchmark rating (107). She's 1/1 at Caulfield and can find a nice position from the low draw. The G.O.A.T Damien Oliver hops back aboard, and we'll just need her customary 'back me next start' finishing burst to find the frame and send us out on top.

Altogether, the multi pays $4.27 (Thursday 4:45PM AEST, Ladbrokes). As always, you can listen to our thoughts in the player below.

Good luck!
