The Saturday Multi – 28th May 2022

3 minute read

Racing and Sports analysts Jaike Altieri and Ethan Perry bring the punters a Saturday multi-bet featuring racing from around the country.

We kicked off with a bang last week, but couldn't keep the ball rolling, with our last two legs failing to get the job done.

We were a bit flat earlier in the week, but once Wednesday came around and acceptances were announced, we got stuck into the form and conjured together a juicy multi for this Saturday's action.

Check it out below.

Eagle Farm Race 5 Number 1 ZAAKI - Win ($1.40, Ladbrokes)

We're alongside the vast majority of punters this week, throwing in the Annabel Neasham-trained gelding to dismantle his rivals, much like he did 12 months ago. He wasn't at his best last start but still held most of this field comfortably, and as we mention in our podcast (which you can listen to here, and down below), we're expecting him to be much better getting onto a firmer deck. He picks himself, and we suggest getting in early as we predict he'll start shorter than this price!

Randwick Race 7 Number 10 MUCH MUCH BETTER - Place ($4)

Returning well here last month, Much Much Better followed it up with a gamely midfield finish in the (Listed) Luskin Star a fortnight ago. He finished just under a half-length from Andermatt on that occasion (current $2.15 favourite), with our flashy grey meeting him 4kgs better this time around. Down in grade and reuniting with Brock Ryan who is 2/2 when partnering, this fella should get it all his own way out in front and have enough gas in the tank to keep rolling when straightening. Off recent efforts, the $4 on offer for him to find the frame looks well over the odds.

Belmont Race 9 Number 5 RED CAN MANWin ($2.30)

It'll be a long wait into the evening, but we believe it'll be well worth it for this gelding. Red Can Man has run behind WA's star sprinter Elite Street in both runs this campaign, finishing just 0.8L off him most recently in the G3 Roma Cup. He'll appreciate a drying surface, he performs well third-up and he has a terrific record at this course and over this distance. There's nothing like Elite Street in this race, and if he can repeat his most recent performances, he'll prove too good for his rivals.

All together, you can net $12.88 (Ladbrokes, Thursday 2:45pm AEST), which we believe is great value.

Listen to the podcast below, get involved, and most importantly, good luck!
