Fresh up from a six month break Dollar For Dollar proved too good in taking his record to eight wins (second stakes) in 16 starts. He was quickest into stride from barrier nine to lead briefly then took the trail, sitting just outside the lead. Jockey Jamie Kah kept the leader honest turning into the straight then took over at the 300m without a fight. Kah urged him further in front at the 200m and they looked to be in for an easy win but then had to hold out the fast finish of Hard Empire who turned in four wide (fourth) then ran on well to grab a good second, a half length away. Inn Keeper led to the top of the straight, was collared at the 300m then barely held on for third. Tatoosh was equal last turning in and ran on quite well down the outer to nab fourth late.
