In a torrid finish Siege Of Quebec got up in the last stride to get his maiden stakes win and fourth win in ten starts. He began well and sat second early but lost his place soon after and drifted back to be midfield (one out) at the 1000m. With no cover throughout, Pierata sat third three wide turning in, finally reached the lead at the 100m and fought hard only to be nosed out at the post.
