Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on September 21.
Four Australian TAB meetings are held today at Scone, Canberra, Geelong and Ipswich.
Scone: Race 3 @ 2:10pm
BETTER NOT FLY has turned the corner. Winner of three from his past four and can continue to climb the ladder. Meets nothing harder and he is ready for the 1400m. VELARO was dominant in easier grade last time in. Fitted up with two trials and gets Thompson and has come up early favourite. MACKELLAR'S LOVE came from off the pace to record her second win last start at Mudgee. Only fitter second-up and she'll stalk the pace from the outset. EMILY’S SONG is also a hope. SELECTIONS: #3 Better Not Fly can make further improvement from #7 and #8.

Geelong: Race 6 @ 4:00pm
DESIDERO won twice and then just missed the one following all at this venue. He draws to advantage and rates to return to the winners list. TYCOON DANCER was good winning here FU and then had no support when caught wide in a 70 on the grass. Gets the claim and will go much better today. INCOMPARABLE has improved both runs back and winning the 64 last time. Fitter and looks right in it again. MILORD is also a chance for Weir. SELECTIONS: #2 Desidero ticks most boxes from #4 and #1.
Ipswich: Race 7 @ 4:15pm
CRAB BOY won here and then didn’t have the best of it after. He will sit handy and Lloyd’s booking is a positive. CLIVEDEN has won two of the last three and did it comfortably the latest 3U. Gets the small claim and should go close. SOFT TOP draws low and she will be better for the three runs back. Is a chance if she finds his best. SELECTIONS: Backing #5 Crab Boy and will cover/save #2 Cliveden who also looks value against our fair prices.
Canberra: Race 8 @ 5:05pm
TYRES ARE CRUCIAL resumes and had a Guineas campaign last time in. Showed a stack of promise early in his career and just found So Spirited too good on this day last year. Wins at best and expect him to be wound-up by Joseph, Jones and Jones for the stable’s big raceday. RIBANDS was slow off but made good improvement winning comfortably at Wagga. That career peak stacks right up. BRIDYN MAY had no luck FU at Hawkesbury bringing very strong form. Will ride the speed and can be right in the photo. ZAMBADA could be the smokey. His best is good enough and he’s had no luck the last three from wide gates and claim assists. SELECTIONS: #5 Tyres Are Crucial. Expect him to be coming hard from #4, #6 and #11.
