Boom sprinter Nature Strip will be out to push his claims for the TAB Everest when he contests the G1 Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley on Friday night.

The McEwen Stakes winner is the opening $2.25 favourite for the Moir Stakes with five rivals on the second line of betting at $9.

“Last start he broke the track record and no doubt he will be popular with punters,” TAB’s Nick Quinn said.

Everest contender Chautauqua will trial between races on Friday night. He is a $15 chance to win the Everest.

Grunt and Humidor have opened as joint $4.60 favourites for Sunday’s Underwood Stakes at Flemington.
