Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on October 5.
Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Port Macquarie, Kyneton, Moonee Valley, Ipswich and Canberra.
Moonee Valley: Race 2 @ 7:00pm
Pace looks like being right on from the outset here with Rock Hard, Unshackled, Fraulein Rustie and La Pomme De Pin among those handy. ROCK HARD was okay last time at Caulfield and comes back to shallower waters now. Tested against the better colts this preparation and that hasn't worked out but he has been doing enough to think that he is well up to winning back in this class. LA POMME DE PIN got herself back on track last time. She has talent and the draw looks a big plus for her tonight. Gets the right run. FRAULEIN RUSTIE will run well again and Rainbow Girl has nice upside. SELECTIONS: Rock Hard can make the most of a drop in grade.

Kyneton Race 4 @ 2:00pm
ZOOLOGY has missed a whisker the last two with good backing. Gets the blinkers again and Walker first time and rates to be winning. SMOKIN' PIERRO resumes off three placings. Is sure to have come on and expect a bold run. WRITTEN IN ROUGE was good 2U and then got caught wide unfancied. This suits better and she finally gets a low gate. MCGUIRE debuts and needs to be kept safe. SELECTIONS: Hot Shot Harry for the win.
Port Macquarie: Race 8 @ 5:20pm
Winter Sonata can take it up. POWER COMMAND was the only chance in the market of beating Burning Crown last start who really made it a one act affair. Fourth run back this afternoon and is a noted weight carrier. Hard to find any excuses. MAUI PRINCESS got the job done at Tamworth last start. Presents here in peak condition and Berry will give her every chance. SHARK ALLEY best of the remainder. Widely drawn but has upside. SELECTIONS: Power Command to end proceedings.
Canberra: Race 8 @ 5:35pm
Fast speed with Orrstar, Excitable, Living Doll and Luxurial all prominent. AMERICAN SALUTE was a beaten favourite first-up at Hawkesbury but the run had merit. Worked throughout after drawing wide and stuck on well to finish third. Noticeably fitter this afternoon and holds the upside in the race. Luxury draw and this is a nice drop back in grade. SPIRIT FORCE showed nice promise last time in. Locally trained and should be well tuned for his first-up assignment. LUXURIAL didn't quite see out the 1200m last start. Place chance again. American Salute to end proceedings. SELECTIONS: American Salute for the win.
