Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on October 12.
Six TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Cessnock, Grafton, Cranbourne, Ballarat, Toowoomba and Townsville.
Cessnock: Race 5 @ 3:40pm
Jamaican Dream and Venture Capital look the pacesetters. MISS REDOBLE showed plenty of promise last time in. Fitted up with one soft trial and looks set to go here. Stretched to the mile at the back end last time in but one day at Taree did show a handy turn of foot taking many lengths off a Taree field over 1000m. Buckley knows her well. VENTURE CAPITAL has eight placings beside her name. Added trip will suit and she'll give a sight on pace as she always does. AMMATE and FUDGEWEDGE for the exotics. Both can sneak into the placings without shock. SELECTIONS: Miss Redoble for the win.

Townsville: Race 3 @ 3:50pm (AEDT)
Plenty of speed in this and expect them to set a fast tempo. SIR VAN DYKE returned in good order with a win at Mackay last time out in what was his first start for new yard. Form in Victoria was good prior to that and this looks a good race for him despite the step up in trip. POLAR BLAST returned in good order for a new yard with a win over 1500m at Cairns last start. Can go on with it now and looms as a danger. REGAL EMBRACE did not have a great deal of luck last start and can bounce back in this. SELECTIONS: Sir Van Dyke for the win.
Ballarat: Race 7 @ 4:00pm
DIAMOND DIVA scored a dominant win four starts back and is getting close to another after finishing runner up at her past two. Made ground and got close last time so she should relish the extra 100m. KAIMU made an encouraging return when she led and fought on well to go down by less than a length. Improver second up and can give a sight again. SO YOU DREAM is another likely to be better for a resuming placing. SELECTIONS: #2 Diamond Diva has the form on the board. Backing to win from #7 and 6.
Grafton: Race 7 @ 5:15pm
Not a stack of pace engaged in this. COOL PRINCE is deserving of a win this campaign. Beaten favourite last start but the race held good depth with a smart one of Lees winning it. Forced to work early from the wide draw but happy to lean his way in an even race. MACKELLAR improved into the placings here last start. Drawn soft again and must be given a chance. CHATEAUROUX could be ready to show best up this distance.SELECTIONS: Cool Prince gets the nod.
Cranbourne: Race 7 @ 9:00pm
Lopartega goes forward and Coral Coast should use the low draw. CORAL COAST was unsuited by the slow tempo last time. Would love to see them rolling along and making it a true test at this trip and the tighter track can often lead to that. No shock to see her sharply improve. PRETTY PUNK chased a good one home in Adelaide last time. Her forms stacks up really well here and with a bit of luck from the wide draw she can make herself hard to beat. OUR LIBRETTO is improving and comes off beating several of these. Sopressa looks to get back on track. Group 1 winners and must respect.SELECTIONS: Backing Coral Coast.
