Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on October 17.
Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Kensington, Caulfield, Northam, Port Lincoln and Launceston.
Randwick-Kensington: Race 3 @ 2:25pm
Pick Of The Day takes it up. Suspect it will be a case of third time lucky this prep for SAVACOOL. Has found the line well in each of her two runs this prep, the latest here over 1400m. Should be fitter again and better suited out to this trip. FEELIN THE LOVE placed at odds behind Invictum Donna last start. Thrives on wet tracks. Stable in form. MISS SHANTI perhaps ready to show something more third up. SELECTIONS: Win bet #2 Savacool from #1 and #4.

Caulfield: Race 4 @ 3:10pm
Pace could be up for grabs here. Eclair Calling can go forward and A Shin Rook was handy first up. Take It Intern raced on speed in the UK. A SHIN ROOK settled back last time and ran strong closing splits to win most impressively at Flemington. Won't have to be far from what could be a steady tempo here and we know that he can sprint home. AL GALAYEL won well last time and has to be a good hope off that. Keeping him on the fresh side could be key. TAKE IT INTERN might be able to take up the running here and that could be a potential advantage. He can improve on the fresh run. Must respect Eclair Calling off the win here last time.
SELECTIONS: Backing A Shin Rook off the impressive win last time.Port Lincoln: Race 5 @ 4:45pm
BRAMFIELD is progressive and was too good FU after a slow off. Draws out again but will cope and should be winning again for Carrison. Stablemate LOCKS WELL made the quinella in that race when expected to need it. He will be coming hard again. PENULTIMATE STAR was okay in the same event and can make further improvement. Gets the form hoop today. KAILUA only gave it away late in the same race and draws to advantage. SELECTIONS: # Bramfield can make it 4/8. A day where the best winning chances are well found.
Launceston: Race 2 @ 7.10pm
AMERICAN SUNDAY is a former Victorian who was blocked for a run when resuming and did well to hit the line hard for third. Better for that outing and he looks up to winning this. RUSTY DEVIL didn't beat any home when resuming but was only 1.6L away. He will strip fitter and his lone career win came at this distance. Well drawn and can improve. GEE GEES CRICKET doesn't win often but is consistent with close seconds at his past two. Contender. SELECTIONS: #1 American Sunday for the win second up from #3 and #2.
