Kings Will Dream Picture: Racing and Sports

Caulfield: Race 8 @ 4.40pm

KINGS WILL DREAM draws to get a great run forward of midfield. Campaign has gone perfectly for this since qualifying by winning the Mornington Cup in March and his Group 1 form this preparation shows him right up to the level required from down in the weights. Horse to beat. YOUNGSTAR outsprinted him in the Turnbull last time. Stronger contest on the cards here but she looks well set up to peak herself. THE CLIFFSOFMOHER rattled home last week and looms large higher up the handicap. At bigger odds Red Verdon looks an interesting runner. Beat The Cliffsofmoher at Ascot and his form has been around the right horses all year in the UK. Purton looks a positive booking. SELECTIONS: Backing #14 King's Will Dream. #9 Red Verdon best roughie.

Morphettville: Race 6 @ 4.05pm (AEDT)

GYTRASH is a talented three-year-old who almost caught top colt Written By at Caulfield last start. That form was franked when Written By won the Blue Sapphire on Wednesday. Had a win and a second from his two Adelaide runs this campaign. Rates on top. ORBOST looks a filly of promise. Won well on debut then took a step up when fourth on the Parks track. Has won a trial since. WRECKING CREW is speedy and led throughout first up at just his second start. Can take another step forward. BAYOU is consistent and has claims off a last-start win. SELECTIONS: #1 Gytrash to win after just missing in Melbourne last time.

Ascot: Race 2 @ 4:18pm (AEDT)

TRUE ATTRACTION won well on debut before hitting the line hard late last start when only narrowly edged out over 1200m. Returned from a 49 day break on that occasion and is sure to relish the step up in trip. Drawn well and with Pike sticking aboard, she should prove very hard to beat. PAGAN IMAGE was only fair to the line last start, but still wasn't beaten far and continues to race well. Has a touch of class and has to be respected. BLACKWOOD RIVER did a good job first up and appears the next in line. SELECTIONS: Very keen on #4 True Attraction for the win.

Randwick: Race 9 @ 5:35pm

RIGHT OR WRONG has found a new level since arriving at the Maher-Eustace stable. Has improved with each outing and last start caught the eye for a second at this course. Form from his tun two back has held up well. The winner of his last start Maximus can potentially frank the form in Race 8 today. Should be at his peak fourth up and loves a wet track. DON'T GIVE A DAMN backs up after a fourth in the Kosciusko. Suspect he could enjoy a soft lead here. BEAU GESTE was always well back on resuming at this track behind Maximus last start. Capable of a far better result here. MAHALANGUR has always promised the world. Delivered an Atlas at Warwick Farm first up but can perhaps now build on it. SELECTIONS: Siding with #5 Right Or Wrong in the last.

Doomben: Race 9 @ 5.42pm (AEDT)

PLUMARO resumes after a midfield finish in the G1 JJ Atkins prior to a spell. Likely to run well fresh and has the ability to win a race like this. JAMI LADY remains undefeated from two career runs, winning both outings by decent margins. Most recent came over 1200m at Ipswich and with more improvement to come she looks the one they have to beat again. LIGHT UP THE ROOM resumes off a strong debut campaign with form around Granny Red Shoes. Keep a very close eye on betting. SELECTIONS: #3 Plumaro has strong each way appeal.

Godolphin's Best Solution recorded his third successive Group 1 win in taking out this prestige event at his first Australian start after victories in Germany in August and September. He went forward from his difficult barrier (15) and after being trapped deep, Pat Cosgrave eased him to settle in fourth place. After then tracking a very steady pace, he made a quick move coming to the 600m, grabbed a break on turning for home and then fought back very gamely to score in a photo in an impressive performance under his top weight (57.5kg). Homesman had a good trip in third place on the rails from his good barrier (4). He moved up at the home turn, challenged strongly at the 200m and then battled gamely for a close second, just finding the winner (who conceded him 4.5kg) too good. The Cliffsofmoher settled well in ninth place, improved nicely (between runners) nearing the home turn, challenged on passing the 200m and then battled gamely for a very good third. Duretto raced in eighth place, improved (between runners) to be fourth at the home turn and then fought well to hold that position (beaten 2.9 lengths) in a really good effort at his first Australian start. The Taj Mahal settled midfield (wide with cover) from his difficult barrier (17) before James McDonald made a sudden move at the 800m due to the pedestrian pace to challenge approaching the home turn. He then battled really well for (3.7 lengths) fifth. Favourite Kings Will Dream raced in 11th place, on the rails, got a run (between runners) at the home turn, got into clear running shortly afterwards and then ran on quite well for (3.9 lengths) sixth. Youngstar settled back in 15th place, went deep on straightening and made ground, in the sprint home to finish (4.7 lengths) seventh in a very sound performance under the circumstances.
