Cliff's Edge scored his fourth stakes success and his eighth win (with four placings) in 21 starts with another game performance in winning here. He looked for the front from his outside barrier (10) but then settled outside the leader (Siege Of Quebec). He again put pressure on that rival from the 600m, got the upper hand and went to the front at the home turn and then fought back very gamely to record a strong win in a smart performance. Prized Icon had a good trip in fourth place on the rails, got through on turning for home, looked the main threat at the 100m and then battled on well for second, finding the winner too good. Duca Valentinois raced in fifth place (between runners), put in a run at the home turn and then kept battling on really well for a close-up third. Siege Of Quebec showed good early pace and after a brief battle, he held the lead (from Cliff's Edge). He then travelled well at a reasonable tempo, was pressured from the 600m and kept fighting on soundly in the straight for fourth, beaten a length.
