Thinkin’ Big heads betting for Saturday's Victoria Derby with his supporters hoping he kicks off a big week at Flemington for Gai Waterhouse.

“In 1995, Gai Waterhouse trained Nothin’ Leica Dane to win the Derby before he backed up and ran second to Doriemus in the Melbourne Cup just three days later,” TAB’s Nick Quinn said.

“Waterhouse confirmed that Thinkin’ Big will contest the Melbourne Cup provided he wins the Victorian Derby and pulls up well.

“In a terrific edition of the Derby, there are just three runners in single figure odds with Thinkin' Big favourite at $3, Aramayo at $7 and Extra Brut at $8.”

Thinkin’ Big is $51 to win next Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup.
