Showing her best form with the step up to 2000m, on her last two starts, Aristia broke her maiden in fine style here, staying on well and is now a likely contender for next week's VRC Oaks (Gr.1, 2500m). She was third early then settled fourth, one out at the 1600m, and remained there to the 1000m before creeping closer to the pace. Jockey Damian Lane had her ready to pounce near the last corner but sat very quietly while she ran up to the leader at the 250m. Once in front, Lane gave her a shake and she raced clear and with three-quarters of a length up her sleeve at the line. Qafila lay third (rails) all the way to the home straight, had to switch away from the fence at the 200m then ran on well for second. From fifth, El Dorado Dreaming found space at the 300m then finished quite well for third from Sizzleme who led to the 250m then battled. Favourite Verry Elleegant fought her rider from the outset then ran on without chance for fifth.
