Talented Irish-bred import Fifty Stars took his impressive record to six wins (with two seconds) in eight starts in taking recording his first stakes victory here. He settled really well in fourth place on the rails but was held up behind runners on turning for home. Ben Allen got him through a gap approaching the 200m and he soon took the lead before going on for a very good win. His new stablemate Holy Snow settled in last place in the eight-horse field, commenced a strong run on passing the 200m and ran on really well for a good second at his first start for the Darren Weir stable. Fastnet Tempest raced in second-last place, before improving (deep) after straightening. He then moved up well at the 100m and fought nicely for a good third.
