Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on December 12.
Seven TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Wyong, Sandown, Terang, Beaudesert, Ascot, Balaklava and Launceston.
Wyong: Race 2 @ 2:15pm
Mile event which lacks in terms of obvious speed. HOTEL AMOUR ran second on resuming at this course in his debut for the Freedman stable. Stable have been enjoying good success with their tried runners. SHAMAN ran well above market expectations on debut when third at Warwick Farm. Settled back and was finding the line well. Will have taken valuable race experience and fitness from the run. Bred to appreciate the mile. LITZEN was fair on debut at Kembla Grange. Has appeal in a race which overall looks short on depth. SELECTIONS: #2 Hotel Amour appeals from #6 and #5.

Terang: Race 3 @ 1:00pm
BELLA got close 2U despite having a tough run. She has more up the sleeve and this is winnable. MIRUSIA placed here FU and didn’t have much luck. Expect her to use the rail and will go close with a repeat. TRULY BROOK resumes from a good gate and can come back improved and gets a handy claim. BELCHAMP also resumes and keep her safe as well. SELECTIONS: # 2 Bella has the figures and is value at the current $3.20.
Ascot: Race 1 @ 4:17pm (AEDT)
ARCHANT really impressed at Bunbury last start when far too good leading throughout over 1410m. Clearly appreciated the blinkers being applied and he appears more than capable of taking that next step. Pateman sticks aboard and he should prove hard to beat. ARSINOE won well fresh before game in defeat last start when really hitting the line well late at Northam. On the improve and looms as a major threat. Last start winner FAIREDU the next in line. SELECTIONS: Uber keen on #2 Archant.
Beaudesert: Race 6 @ 5:05pm (AEDT)
GREYWOLF is in fine form. Overcame a slow start when winning at Ipswich last time, his second win from his past three starts. Only needs to hold that form to go close again. SKY LAKE has placed at his past two outings after winning two of his previous three. Rarely runs a bad race at this distance. Rates highly. MOTION GRANTED could improve back in grade third up. SELECTIONS: #1 Greywolf to continue his good form. Backing to win from #6 and #2.
Balaklava: Race 7 @ 6:10pm (AEDT)
POLAR VORTEX is racing well having placed at all three starts since a win at Oakbank. Missed by a nose over this distance at Morphettville Parks two back. Looks well placed. STAGHORN was solid in fourth last start and gets the favours from the inside stall. This looks a suitable assignment. TRIPLE SPEC has won second up before so can improve. SELECTIONS: #1 Polar Vortex looks well placed. Backing to win from #7 and #4.
Sandown: Race 7 @ 7:00pm
FRIEDENSBERG followed up on his solid effort two back when saluting narrowly at this track last start over 1500m. On the improve and appears set to relish the step up to 1800m. Drawn to receive all the favours and notably gets the tongue tie on for the first time. Rates highly, hard to beat. Last start winner EXCESSABEEL also looks to be trending the right way and with the added aid of the claim, she looms as a major threat. CAVALERO bounced back last start and appears the next in line. SELECTIONS: Very keen on #5 Friedensberg.
