Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on January 4.
Six TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Canterbury, Tamworth, Cranbourne, Sunshine Coast, Esperance & Canberra.
Canterbury: Race 4 @ 7:45pm
Anna's Joy and All Too Royal prominent. ALL TOO ROYAL has recorded slender seconds in his past two runs on the Kensington. Should be suited around Canterbury. MARMARIS resumes. Held his own in some good company through two runs in the winter. Has been given time to mature. Should be forward enough after a pair of trials in readiness. FOX SWIFT resumes. Won her stable debut for John O'Shea prior to another short spell. Stable is enjoying some good success with their tried runners. SELECTIONS: Keen on #2 All Too Royal.

Tamworth: Race 3 @ 2:35pm (AEDT)
Dan Roy and Katgully Red should kick up. KATGULLY RED has had two runs back, both full of merit. Drops to this easier race and should be close to peak fitness third-up. Boasts the class edge and is well suited by the claim for Cejay Graham. MONTANA PINES couldn't keep his winning streak in tact last start at Scone but didn't disgrace. Top chance at best. SCHAPPOSE best of the remainder. Thereabouts this time in and the blinkers will sharpen him nicely.SELECTIONS: Katgully Red straight out.
Canberra: Race 3 @ 3:25pm (AEDT)
Speed aplenty. APPETIZING is primed to go third-up. Couldn't capitalize on a good run throughout at Nowra most recently but the race had depth. Provincial placed fresh and banking on him to return to form here. TRUMBO is an honest conveyance. Not disgraced in a stronger race last start behind Irish Songs. Should be competitive. CRITICAL TOUCH was a victim of the large weight last start. Has brilliant credentials at this track and can improve. SELECTIONS: Appetizing for the win.
Sunshine Coast: Race 7 @ 6.53pm (AEDT)
WHODUNNIT is very consistent having finished within 1.8L of the winner at his past five outings. Ran on well last time and gets Brad Stewart back on, a jockey who has won or placed in all rides on him. This looks winnable. TYCOON FLUTTER was slow out but worked home to place at this track and trip last time. At peak fitness now. KOTA FLYER took his record to two wins from five starts when scoring last time. Could progress again third up. SELECTIONS: #2 Whodunnit has found the right race. Backing to win.
Cranbourne: Race 6 @ 9:00pm
Up in trip and from a low draw it will be no shock to see Cataracta use her speed to settle in the first couple. RIVER JEWEL worked home strongly last time and the Sandown run two back rates as clearly the best recent piece of form on offer here. Draws out but that can suit her. Gives her time and space to build into her work. HERECOMESMYBABY resumes with a good winning hope. Dominant fresh last time around. CATARACTA was okay first up. Quickly up in trip for this. Has plenty of talent and likely to be high up in the betting. SELECTIONS: Backing River Jewel.
