Godolphin-raced three-year-old gelding Tin Hat is now unbeaten in three runs after advancing to impressively record his first stakes victory in eight starts here. He was smartly away and soon crossed to the front. He then ran along at a good pace (first 600m 34.45), held a break on straightening and kept going strongly to win really well in quick time (1:08.79). Halvorsen raced back in fifth place until into the home straight and then finished on well to take second, narrowly from Poised To Strike who had been fourth to the home turn before battling on nicely for third. Fundamentalist was handy on the rails before fighting on in the straight for (1.9 lengths) fourth.
