In another impressive first-up performance, In Her Time recorded her second Group 1 victory here, her ninth win from 24 starts. She settled closer than expected in fourth place, just behind the leaders, with the field racing in the centre of the track. She challenged strongly at the 200m, got to the front at the 100m and then fought back gamely for a smart win. Osborne Bulls settled in second last place in the 11-horse field, racing closer to the grandstand side. He sprinted quickly from the 300m and kept then finishing well, getting to within a short-head of the winner for second in a bold first-up run. Quality sprinting filly Sunlight secured a narrow lead, at a quick pace, and held on very gamely for a close-up third. Graff was just behind the leaders in about sixth place, put in his bid at the 200m and battled on well for fourth, beaten less than a length, in a very good first-up effort. Missrock was back in last place until switching deeper at the 200m and she then ran on nicely for a good (2.2 lengths) fifth.
