Lightly raced six-year-old mare Jamaican Rain, having just her 13th start, added win seven and second stakes in a convincing fresh up effort here. She jumped fairly but soon rushed forward to steal the rail even though sitting second at the 1200m. She co-led down the side then edged into a solo lead at the 400m, slipping a length clear at the top of the straight. Away by two lengths inside the 200m she kept going strongly and had three-quarters to spare at the line. Naantali improved three wide down the side to be fourth then went wider turning in, balanced and went after the leader. She tried hard and was taking ground off the winner but had too much ground to make up. Teleplay sat in behind the leading four turning in, found room inside the 300m and ran on well late to finish third. Spanish Reef was fifth (rails) turning in then finished quite well along the fence to land fourth.
