Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on February 27.
Seven TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Rosehill, Sandown, Terang, Doomben, Ascot, Gawler & Launceston.
Rosehill: Race 4 @ 3:10pm
LATIN LIGHT stepped up to metro company and made it two wins in a row last start when he scored very easily over this distance at Warwick Farm. Took control before the corner that day and gave nothing else a chance. Likely to enjoy a similar run today and although this looks a shade harder he can certainly win again. ALLCASH got a long way back after an early check but made late ground without threatening to finish 3rd to Latin Light at the Farm. Gets a nice weight turnaround today and could easily turn the tables. OUR GRAVANO appreciated the step up to 2400m last time out when a barnstorming 3rd at Randwick. Has his share of weight but looks a threat back to midweek company. SELECTIONS: #6 Latin Light to win again.

Doomben Race 4 @ 4:05pm
TEQUILA BOOM (10) found one better here FU and didn’t have the best of it. Had trialled well prior and she’s got plenty up the sleeve. Gets a tricky gate but gets the key rider switch to Lloyd and expect him to manage it. AMERICAN CAT (1) was heavily-backed FU and was just okay. Where there’s smoke and expect quick improvement from the Gollan galloper using the handy gate. BONNEY LORES (8) draws low and will be right on the speed. Was close-up here the latest and is a chance with a repeat. ALL DREAMS (4) has placed the last two without much luck. Always needs a good ride but can make the finish. SELECTIONS:Looks a good betting card. Like a few but at around $3.0 #10 Tequila Boom represents the best value.
Terang: Race 8 @ 4:35pm
MISS DAMITA (3) is close to a win and will enjoy the early pressure. Sits back but will be winding up hard here. SET THE BAR HIGH (1) is racing well and looks a leading chance. On pace runner who was placed in far tougher class latest. CADABRA (6) is close to a win and looks suited at the longer journey. Will be winding up strongly. RENDELSHAM (4) is racing well and among the chances on best figures. A QUIET DRINK (7) is drawn to be prominent. SELECTIONS: Miss Damita gets chance.
Hobart: Race 9 @ 5:40pm
LIFE ON THE WIRE (1) sat deep on the speed with no cover and was too good fresh. Can only be fitter and thrives at the extra journey. The one to beat again. TWITCHY FRANK (3) and SPEEDONOVA (5) dead heated for second behind him. That pair look excellent each way hope again. GEE GEE LANETT (4) was fourth in the same race and kept coming after giving a start. Also looks an each way hope. I REMEMBER YOU (6) is unbeaten for the Brunton yard since coming from Queensland and is stablemate to the favourite. Ready for the longer trip now and can sneak into the finish. SELECTIONS: Life On The Wire clearly the one to beat again.
Gawler: Race 5 @ 6:40pm
SET TO CRUISE (1) won the 60 here by a space and then was beaten less than 2L as favourite in the city in stronger than this. She will use the rail and looks very well-placed to bounce back. RUN BY NIGHT (3) won an Ararat Maiden FU over the mile as the market expected. Is back after 40 days for the new yard and has to be kept very safe. GROOVE WITH ME (2) has been racing well and this is a suitable assignment. TROOPER'S PLOY (4) will be around the mark forgiving the latest. SELECTIONS: #1 Set To Cruise has a big record this course and distance and can add to it.
Ascot: Race 5 @ 7:20pm
THE FUGAZI (1) came off Group company to miss a lip here FU heavily-backed. Finds easier grade and will have these covered with a good ride. CHAMPAGNE GAL (8) has been around the mark and didn’t have much luck here LS as equal favourite. Gets another chance at odds., ZEPHYR QUEEN (10) can control the race and best to forget the latest. Didn’t miss by far here prior. DIVINE SHADOW (3) draws low and was good winning the Maiden on debut. Gets a low gate and the blinkers first time and can keep improving. SELECTIONS: # 1 The Fugazi has a clear edge.
Sandown: Race 8 @ 7:30pm
Wide open race with a few of these resuming and wanting further. MOUNT KILCOY (10) is fitter for two runs in and ready to show best though. Rate strongly and expected to go close this easier class. COME ON CARL (15) is in great form and has fitness on his side. Down in weight and draw well. Can measure up here. HUNAMOSA (5) is also racing well including a last start Valley win. Drawn for a soft run here for the slightly longer journey. STEEL PRINCE (3) may well want further but could sneak into the finish fresh. SELECTIONS: Keen on Mount Kilcoy.
