Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on March 1.
Seven TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Muswellbrook, Wagga, Swan Hill, Moonee Valley, Ipswich, Narrogin & Port Lincoln.
Wagga: Race 5 @ 3:50pm
GREENSPAN brings superior form to the table. Copped an early check but rallied late to get up for 3rd last start over 1200m at Newcastle. Generally peaks third up and is a winner at the trip so from a nice gate he looks primed for a big run. The sparingly raced mare ZAROMATIC is the danger. Won her maiden last time out over 1300m at this circuit, driving hard in the final furlong to win by a long neck. Looks ready for the longer trip and just needs luck from a tricky gate. NOVIERO hasn't had a great deal of luck in harder races this prep. Lightly raced gelding who is ready for the mile back in this company. SELECTIONS: #3 Greenspan looks better than these.

Swan Hill: Race 6 @ 1:35pm
SAY GOOD NIGHT (2) was a big Maiden winner and then missed a nose this grade at Donald from the front. Saved of this from a winnable race and gets the visor first time. Rates to win running them along. NEVER BACK DOWN (3) has had one blip in a string of strong runs. Just missed LS at Bendigo and looks well-placed to go one better. SHE WON'T LEAVE (6) has a similar profile and deserves a win. Uses the rail but has to manage a 446m distance drop off the freshen. FREE WILLY (1) is also a hope. SELECTIONS: # 2 Say Good Night gets his chance.
Port Lincoln: Race 6 @ 3:40pm
ICELANDIC STAR (3) looks well placed here. Close up fourth fresh in town then finished last there latest but only a few lengths from the winner and in tougher company. Fitter and looks hard to hold out this company. RUBY'S REWARD (5) won two on end before running fourth here latest when less than two lengths from the winner in open class. This easier and can improve sharply. MIRTHDALE (4) is no stranger to this class and has been racing over further. Will be beaten for speed here but get home hard. PHANTOM DATE (2) and TINTAGEL ROCKER (1) are among the each way hopes. SELECTIONS: Icelandic Star can improve sharply this company.
Muswellbrook: Race 7 @ 4.50pm
LONELY HEART was heavily supported last start and got the job done over 1300m at Scone, travelling close to the pace then quickening nicely to score with a length to spare. Can go on with the job on a seven-day back-up. HUBBLE has not raced since leading all the way to score a big maiden win over 1500m at Port Macquarie on 15 November. Will be better for this run but could surprise while fresh. TEARS HE CRIED broke her maiden at last when she led all the way for a gutsy win over 1200m at Port Macquarie recently. Looks a lightweight hope again with the confidence high. AYETEEM for the exotics. SELECTIONS: #3 Lonely Heart can win again.
Narrogin: Race 4 @ 6:35pm
PINK 'N' GRAY (2) can sit on the speed and led all the way winning his Maiden here this trip. Deserved that and rates to go right on with it. ICE MAKER (1) won in the bush and then ran favourite this grade when wide throughout. Gets the rail and is a quinella hope. BROWSING (6) was three wide just missing in the same race and will lead with a better jump. MAGIC OPUS (3) next. SELECTIONS: # 2 Pink ‘N’ Gray has upside and expecting him to bring home a skinny early quaddie.
Moonee Valley: Race 8 @ 10:00pm
CRISTAL EYES (8) was an effortless fresh up winner and can only be fitter. Drawn for a soft run and expected to go close again. PRIVATE LOUNGE (1) is fitter for two runs back and looks ready to win. Claim helps and gets chance. SISTER KITTY MAC (4) will take catching from the low draw. TOUCH A CLOUD (10) is a last start winner and can only be fitter. Can measure up. SELECTIONS: Cristal Eyes the one to beat.
