Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Newcastle, Sapphire Coast, Ararat, Cranbourne & Sunshine Coast.

Newcastle: Race 7 @ 5:35pm

Not a great deal of early pace. Siege Of Quebec can land prominent with perhaps Got Unders. LANCIATO was closing well behind Eckstein first up in the Southern Cross Stakes where he ran fifth, beaten just a length. Will be fitter for the run and has a superb second up record. One of the class runners of this field. Slight concern is lack of early speed up front. SIEGE OF QUEBEC resumes after a spring campaign where he was Group 1 placed and a Group 3 winner. Readied for this with a pair of trials and his first up record is solid. SAVATIANO was finding the line nicely first up in the Millie Fox Stakes. Somewhat surprised to see her in this considering she'll likely back up in the Coolmore Classic on Saturday week. INVINCIBLE GEM next elect. Was fair first up. Fitter and appeals on her home track. SELECTIONS: #2 Each way Lanciato from #1 and #4.

Sapphire Coast: Race 7 @ 4:40pm

Sarzana should kick up with Acton Shale and Pride Of Kalaru prominent. ACTON SHALE gets his chance. Slow out and never recovered in the Jack Thomas at Canberra last start. Always been one with stacks of ability. This is a nice drop in grade for him. Small query over the mile but he should land in a nice trailing spot. Remotely near best form and he should be winning this. MONEGAL was down the track in town last start. Bolted in to win the maiden at this track prior by 6L. Rock hard fit and can bounce back. Drawn nicely. BENDETHERA is knocking on the door. Greets this having raced over the 2000m+ recently. Will be strong late. PRIDE OF KALARU could be an improver. SELECTIONS: Acton Shale for the win.

Cranbourne: Race 4 @ 7:30pm

4 OLIVE (9) looks a top chance to break through in this. Resumed with a fourth over 1000m after a slow getaway but will be fitter and can sit on speed here with a clean break. Has the inside and will go close. DIAMOND EFFORT (7) was good fresh when runner up. Fitter and will be close to the action throughout. CHAP'S DREAM (6) improved nicely at second career start when runner up, coming from off pace. Fitter and should get all the favours from the perfect draw. EDMONIA (2) is fitter and can improve sharply. SOLODKA (3) will give a sight at odds. SELECTIONS Olive worth following.

Princess Posh, who was having her second start this preparation, staged a really good effort in taking out this Group 3 race, her second stakes success and her eighth win (ten placings) from 27 starts. She settled back in second last place in the 12-horse field, improved (deep) from the 700m, put in a good move from the 200m and finished well to grab a narrow win at the post. The favourite Savatiano enjoyed a good trip in third place, looked the winner when she dashed to the front shortly after turning for home, only to be caught nearing the post for (half-head) second. Invincible Gem raced in sixth place, moved up (wide out) rounding the home turn and kept fighting well to take third in a sound effort at her second run back. Lanciato, winner of this race last year, settled in last place, tracked up from the 600m, went deep on straightening and came with a late run for (1.4 lengths) fourth. Siege Of Quebec, who was resuming, was a handy fourth, moved up at the home turn, went to second at the 200m and then kept battling on under his top weight (59kg) for (1.8 lengths) fifth.
