Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on March 29.
Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Muswellbrook, Sapphire Coast, Cranbourne, Warrnambool & Ipswich.
Muswellbrook: Race 7 @ 5:30pm
Sondelon and Great Job will inject good early pace into the Cup. The lightly raced SONDELON (5) was scratched from Warwick Farm on Wednesday to be kept for this. Led all the way last start to record a comprehensive 2 lengths win over this distance at Rosehill. Kept fresh since that outing and with a nice run up on the speed will be very difficult to reel in. INVICTA (9) has been freshened up since charging home late to grab 2nd over the mile at Wyong 38 days ago. Leading contender down in the weights. The consistent BLINKIN ARTIE (10) will give backers a sight. Wound up strongly in the final stages and just missed at Rosehill recently over 1300m. Yet to miss a place in four runs at this trip. GREAT JOB (6) for the multis. SELECTIONS: #5 Sondelon to lead all the way and win again.

Sapphire Coast: Race 4 @ 2:45pm
Good speed from the wider half of the draw - notably Bart, Noviero and Jarrett. BART (2) resumed from a three-month spell last start with a close 3rd over 1200m at Canberra after racing up on the pace. Won second up over 1460m last prep under a big weight. Jess Taylor, who is 2/2 aboard this gelding, regains the mount. They key scratching of Hemmerle gives this consistent gelding an excellent winning chance. JARRETT (6) showed pace into the straight but tired late over 1400m at Newcastle recently. The winner of 3/3 at this circuit so must be respected third up from a spell. JANIS (3) was never a factor in the Merimbula Cup here last start but back in this grade is not without an each-way chance. SHE'S GOT BLING (9) can improve today. SELECTIONS: #2 Bart returned in good order last start and can go on with the job today.
Warrnambool: Race 4 @ 4:00pm
Duecourse may be the one to lead with a decent kick. DUECOURSE (6) resumed in stronger in town and didn’t get into it after being hampered at the start. Brought good form to that and gets her chance with winning rider Meech reunited. DU TO PASS (3) won the CL1 first-up at Ballarat off the G2. Can only be improved and had more up the sleeve. PROUDEST MOMENT (4) led winning at Hamilton as a hot favourite and then was backed again when a bit plain at Moe. Peaks off a handy gate and expect an improved run. CANNY MOVE (2) was wide placing first-up at Hamilton and is also a chance. SELECTIONS: Competitive races all day. #6 Duecourse has more to give and gets her chance.
Cranbourne: Race 6 @ 9:00pm
Vladivostok and Hawkestone are candidates to lead from Write Enuff. WRITE ENUFF (7) should get the run of the race and followed the first-up Adelaide placing with a solid run in stronger at Flemington. Hasn’t been far away in Group and Stakes grade and looks the one to beat with Kah up. EVIE MATILDA (8) resumes and is a promising mare who performs fresh. Draws handy and is sure to go well. VLADIVOSTOK (2) peaks and was much better at Pakenham. Runs alsong and keeps Mott. FRANKEL MY DEAR (5) was slow off the latest, but the two prior rate well for this, and he’s a chance from the better gate. SELECTIONS #7 Write Enough has good upside.
